Antonio LaRosa and Taylor-Rae Deliver Raw New Acoustic Version of “Hearts Don’t Break”
Following the breakout success of their emotionally charged duet “Hearts Don’t Break,” Canadian country standout Antonio Larosa and Nashville-based country artist Taylor-Rae return today with a stripped-back acoustic rendition of the track. Created after audiences connected deeply with the pair’s live performances of the song, “Hearts Don’t Break (Acoustic)” strips the track down to its emotional core, spotlighting the duo’s raw chemistry and heartfelt storytelling. Listen to “Hearts Don’t Break (Acoustic)” HERE.
Trading the sweeping production of the original for delicate acoustic guitar, exposed harmonies, and an undeniable sense of intimacy, the acoustic version allows every lyric to land with even greater weight. The release follows a wave of momentum for the original version, which earned international praise from media across Canada, the United States, and the UK, secured editorial playlist support across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, and landed on SiriusXM Top Of The Country, followed by an exclusive premiere of the acoustic track on SiriusXM North Americana.
“After performing this song together live, we kept hearing from people who wanted a stripped back version that captured the feeling of those performances,” shares Antonio Larosa. “This song has always been rooted in emotion and storytelling, so stripping everything away really let the heart of it shine through. Taylor-Rae brings so much honesty to every line she sings, and I think this version really showcases the connection we have as artists.”
Originally co-written alongside award-winning songwriter David Borys, “Hearts Don’t Break” explores the painful limbo between holding on and letting go, capturing two people trying to salvage something that’s already slipping away. On the acoustic version, that emotional tension feels even more immediate, with Larosa and Taylor-Rae’s voices carrying the weight of the song almost entirely on their own.
“There’s something really special about singing this song in its most stripped down form,” adds Taylor-Rae. “The acoustic version feels incredibly honest and vulnerable, and I think it brings listeners even deeper into the story. Every time Antonio and I have performed this song together, the response has been so emotional, and we wanted to recreate that feeling in a way people could take home with them.”
Last fall, the pair performed “Hearts Don’t Break” live on Nashville’s legendary WSM Radio, further cementing the track’s growing momentum within the country and Americana spaces. With its timeless storytelling, aching harmonies, and undeniable emotional pull, “Hearts Don’t Break (Acoustic)” serves as both a fresh reimagining and a testament to the song’s enduring impact.
