BST Hyde Park Garth Brooks Preview

Whilst the growth and recent resurgence of the genre on this side of the Atlantic is well documented and this is the third year running that BST Hyde Park will be holding designated “country days” following on from Morgan Wallen and Shania Twain two years ago, along with Zach Bryan selling out back to back days twelve months ago, this show in Hyde Park represents much more and the second crown jewel for country fans on this side of the pond within the last four months.

When I reviewed the Sunday night of this year’s C2C: Country to Country festival in London and I talked about the legacy of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, I talked about how in the history books of country music, they would have their own volume, let alone a chapter and how that show in London was over three decades in the making. That statement is equally as, if not even more fitting for Mr Troyal Garth Brooks!

Garth remains the only artist in history with nine DIAMOND selling albums in the States and within an incredibly full trophy cabinet, he has been named Entertainer of the Year TEN TIMES by the Academy of Country Music in addition to seven times by the CMA. This one off appearance will be his first UK show since 1998 which is twenty-eight years ago and a large number of the new generation of country fans and even artists were not even a twinkle in the eyes of their parents.

To complement the Oklahoma native, BST have once again pulled all of the stops out with one of the genres most high profile and high intensity live bands: the Zac Brown Band and their seven studio albums worth of hit after hit, heading up a prestigious undercard that many festivals back across the pond would be very jealous of. The darling of Arkansas and firm UK favourite Ashley McBryde will head back to perform tracks from her recently released fifth studio album “Wild” to a large scale audience on this side of the pond for the first time along with a welcome return to BST for Alexandra Kay who will bring her warm and overly fun feel good vibes to the festival for a second time.

Also making a return to the British Isles but heading to Hyde Park will be one of Nashville’s most respected singer-songwriters who has been one of Music City’s real grafters for a long time and absolutely lights up the face of anyone in town every single time that her name is mentioned and Mae Estes is guaranteed to be someone that you really cannot afford to miss. Leah Blevins is another artist you will need to make sure that you can catch, who you can learn more of what she is all about in our recent interview that you can check out HERE before she brings a slick and infectious Americana sound to the festival as she also heads back across the pond to share her “All Dressed Up” record live for the first time in London. Lastly not forgetting one of our favourite artists here at Country In The UK as Jackson Dean always delivers a full blown experience and we cannot wait to see him light up the sky in central London with one of the most magical voices in the music industry as he will be performing songs from his phenomenal “Magnolia Sage” album.

American Express presents BST Hyde Park takes place through June and July with Garth Brooks kicking off the festivities on Saturday June 27th with: Ateez (June 28th), Maroon 5 (July 3rd), Mumford & Sons (July 4th), Duran Duran (July 5th), Pitbull (July 10th) and Lewis Capaldi (July 11th & 12th) completing the lineup of headliners. Full festival details and any last remaining tickets for shows which are not sold out are available on their WEBSITE and you can keep up to date with all that is happening across the festival on INSTAGRAM TIKTOK & FACEBOOK.
