C2C 2026 Friday Review
Well here we go again, C2C: Country to Country in London seems to come back around quicker and quicker each year but after our return from Berlin last weekend, the attention was already focused on 2027 before the festival in the British capital had even begun. Manchester joined the group chat as it was announced that the festival would head to the north west of England for the first time next year with the specifics around the rest of the cities to follow in due course.
Whilst the weather last week was glorious, the temperature was more fitting of the north of England when this years event kicked off in London and if Tyla Rodrigues found twenty degrees in Berlin a little chilly, her and the rest of the Australians have a real shock coming this weekend because even as a proud Londoner, it is bloody freezing in Greenwich!
This year’s festival has a heavy Paramount+ presence with them sponsoring the Town Square and also the new addition of The Yellowstone Yard located up by the taxi drop off and cable car station. This brought the arrival of two brand new stages which firstly are a welcome addition to help with footfall at other stages but also was a really fun new space which saw a very large crowd who were up bright and early to see The Shires.

The first two of our must see artists list (which we published yesterday) played back-to-back on the Bobbie Pryor hosted BBC Radio 2 Stage in the Indigo with McCoy Moore playing to a packed out room. We got to spend some time chatting with McCoy last weekend in Germany and since then he has announced that his debut album ‘Sunshine State’ will be released in May. This marked the very first show in the UK for the Floridian and given the reaction to this opening show, we are sure it definitely will not be his last. He is a really fun dude to be around, his craft as a songwriter is so evident and even playing acoustically on his own, his ability to hold a room this large as a performer is a real testament to his quality as an artist.
Following McCoy was the sweetest southern belle who like last weekend in Berlin had jumped off the bench for the Songwriters show yesterday and Emily Ann Roberts continued to delight once more in the middle of the afternoon when she well and truly looked ‘Pretty In Pink’. Like a lot of people, I first became aware of her, way back when she was on The Voice and as much as it being evident how much vocal talent she has when you hear her really fun songs digitally, you don’t appreciate how she is one of the warmest and most charismatic performers on stage you will see in any genre of music so after missing it in Berlin, to get to see the full thirty minute set will be tough to top all weekend.

After a catchup with friends in All Bar One, we headed back to The Dutton Ranch in the Town Square for the next artist on our must see list and as are really big fans of Liam St. John. Once again their was no cover of ‘Toxic’ in the set despite requests made through his label and publicist but the trio setup really works so well, where this country blues sound is divine and just epitomises why we are so obsessed with his music and eagerly awaiting the next chapter which is on the way.
Following the chance to smash a few bottles of Bud Light in Boom Battle Bar it was time for Mr Scotty McCreery who unlike last weekend (long story, don’t ask) I was able to see the full show from Scotty and he smashed that stage. It’s been a long time since I was able to talk to Scotty and right now would be killer to do that again (hint hint to his PR) especially as the Patriots are relevant again but this man has found the fountain of youth as he still looks exactly the same as when you first laid eyes on him. It’s so fun and so uplifting watching him play live, like everyone feels good and ‘Five More Minutes’ hits more as C2C coincides with the anniversary of when I lost a friend in a car crash ten years ago. The arrival of Darius Rucker picked my vibe back up for the perfect end to the set and a magnificent curtain raiser for what was to come.
Zach Top is the hottest commodity in country music right now so to have secured him as a headliner for the trio of UK nights of the festival along with the European legs of the festival is a massive coup. They gave the people what they wanted and they were not disappointed. It is very clear to see him receive the much deserved accolades off the back of a stellar set where the bluegrass section performed acoustically was an an absolute highlight.
Day 8, we are ready for you and Uncle Keith will lead the Australian army tomorrow so LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!
C2C: Country to Country will take place in London, Belfast and Glasgow over the weekend of the 13th to 15th of March which you can more details and ticket information on their WEBSITE and socials (FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM & TIKTOK)
