Cam releases Alchemy

Today, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Cam releases “Alchemy,” her highly anticipated new single and first solo release in four years. Listen HERE.

A stunning convergence of country, folk, and left-field pop, “Alchemy” showcases Cam’s gift for distilling complex ideas into songs that hit with a glorious ease. Produced by longtime collaborator Tyler Johnson (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus) and co-written by Cam, Johnson, Michael Uzowuru (Frank Ocean, SZA), and Anders Mouridsen (Meghan Trainor), “Alchemy” is a bright and joyous meditation on the cyclical nature of life, death, and each stage in between.

Says Cam of the track, “I wanted to write something where we just focused on melody, but it turned into a song about reflecting on what we’re made of, where we’re coming from and where we’re going.”

Accompanying the release of the song is its music video, a stunning one-take visual directed by James Mackel, who previously worked with Doechii on the videos for “DENIAL IS A RIVER” and “Anxiety.”

“Alchemy” marks the latest entry in an acclaimed catalog that includes Cam’s 2015 major label debut Untamed, featuring the 3x platinum hit single “Burning House,” which earned Cam her first Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance and remains one of the best-selling country songs by a female solo artist since its release.

Prolific and adored, Cam’s voice resonates louder than ever before, most recently contributing songwriting, production, and backing vocals to Beyoncé’s genre-shattering album, COWBOY CARTER. Her significant involvement on the album secured Cam her second Grammy nomination and first win as a songwriter for Album Of The Year. Cam also recently featured on 070 Shake’s latest album, PETRICHOR, on the track “Never Let Us Fade,” which she co-wrote.

A vivid storyteller, clever wordsmith, and committed visionary with an anticipated new body of work on the way, fans have only just begun to scratch the surface of Cam’s many facets.
