Country on the Common 2026 Review

For the second year running, south west London hosted its very own country festival. With a capacity of seven and a half thousand which was reached on the Saturday for a headline set from Seaksick Steve along with performances from homegrown favourites Kezia Gill, Twinnie, Jonny Morgan & The Moral Support and Simeon Hammond Dallas, Country on the Common has grown into one of the new highlights of the summer calendar.

Whilst Charlotte took her camera along on Saturday, we headed down to Tooting Common as it basked in glorious sunshine for the second day of the event on the Sunday. We attended the first running last year as our warmup to seeing Sabrina Carpenter in Hyde Park and the growth from the first event was evident and hugely positive. The overall site layout remained mainly unchanged but the positioning and effectiveness of the bars was not just a big improvement but one of the most efficient that you will find of any event of this size. There are plenty of good options, a number of family friendly activities and two live performance stages that had really good sound coming from both.

The event caters towards the local community as much as travelling country fans which is one of the things that makes it stand out and why their potential for a ceiling is really high. Operated as a not for profit event in partnership with Wandsworth Borough Council this really is a festival that is giving back to their surroundings. The Sunday bill saw Cody Pennington close out the event in spectacular style after really fun sets from Harleymoon Kemp, Elles Bailey and an incredible DJ set from BBC Radio 2’s Vernon Kay who was ably assisted by The Country Roses with their on-stage dancing.

Country on the Common is a fun, inclusive and well programmed event with a lot going on for new and long term country fans that is very well served by public transport and takes place in a great setting within a well organised site so if you were unlucky enough to miss out this year we would definitely recommend you keeping your eyes peeled for the next instalment.

Country on the Common is set to return to Tooting Common in 2027 with more details and ticket information to come in due course. You can find more information about the event on their WEBSITE whilst you can also relive all of the goings on from this year’s event on INSTAGRAM TIKTOK & FACEBOOK.
