Elizabeth Nichols' New “Oh The Things Men Do” Laughs Off The Ploys Of Wannabe Cassanovas
Fast-rising Country newcomer Elizabeth Nichols once again calls it like she sees it with today's releases of her new single “Oh The Things Men Do,” available now via PULSE Records. Ribbing wannabe Cassanovas, she laughs as she details the superficial efforts and not-so-subtle performative actions men take in their relentless quest for…"action." The accompanying music video sees a bright-eyed Nichols in an old familiar story as her honorable suitor turn from “Prince Charming” to a toad right around midnight.
“We had a lot of laughs in the writers' room swapping stories about some of the tactics we've seen men employ to try and charm women. We set out to turn that conversation into a song that reflected how baffling and amusing we found their see-through and predictable maneuvers. However, the more I thought about it, there are a lot of young girls out there that probably don't have the same perspective and I hope this song teaches them not to be fooled by charm that is all show and no substance and not to fall for empty gestures dressed up as romance," said Elizabeth Nichols.
Written by Nichols, Steve Rusch, Laura Veltz and Steph Jones and produced by Steve Rusch, “Oh The Things Men Do,” marks the exact one year anniversary of Nichols' releasing her first song ever, “I Got A New One.” Released while in the midst of finals for her first semester in law school, the cheeky tune was the unexpected catalyst for Nichol's music career, which has taken off like wild fire in the last 12 months. Thanks to the success of the song and her clever lyrics, the smart cookie decided to put law school on hold in January to pursue music full-time. Since the top of the year, the 23-year-old has become one of the hottest newcomers in Country music and has been named to several artist to watch lists including this week's All Country News' ACN 10, wracking up more than 60 million streams and exploding her social media following to nearly one million and achieving major milestones many artists could only dream of. In 2025 alone, Nichols landed a record deal, signed with a manager and agent, performed her first show ever, made her first official music video (and a few more after that), released her first EP, Tough Love, made her Grand Ole Opry debut (and will return again Saturday night!), went on her first tour, was named June's Billboard's Country Rookie of the Month and has graced several bucket list stages including the Kentucky Derby, The Bluebird Cafe, CMA Fest and more.
