Independent singer-songwriter Emily Hackett returns with a new release this Friday 10/30.  My Version of Love Song EP is a collection of 6 songs dealing with life, love and “Hangovers and Heartaches."  With 5 out of the 6 already out ahead from the rocking “Hangovers & Heartbreak” throwback sounding title track “My Version of Love Song” emotional “Handle," the beautiful love song to her husband “How The Hell (Micheal’s Song) to the only collab on the EP with Hardcastle “Can’t Help Myself” released last week Friday. The final track “Expecting” co-written with Hadley Kennary is a candid 3-minute track about fears of becoming a mother and societal pressures of expecting. Hackett’s take on the topic is as elegant as the melody is to the true to life songwriting.

The 6 track
My Version of A Love Song yet again reintroduces audience to Hackett’s exceptional storytelling in a blend of reviving melodies from the early 2000s grooves to classic rock tunes. Hackett’s new EP is simply in one word phenomenal.

About Emily Hackett
Emily Hackett is the rare songwriter who doesn’t just pour her heart into her lyrics—she inspires every listener to reach a deeper honesty in their own lives. With her stunningly detailed storytelling, the Nashville-based artist sheds light on the countless liabilities of being human, ultimately transforming even the most painful feelings into something glorious.
It’s exactly that alchemy that recently found Hackett named one of
CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2019—a distinction that’s helped launch the careers of luminaries like Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris. That announcement followed the release of her two-part EP By the Sun and By the Moon, both consisting of five tracks that represent Hackett’s debut album. By The Sun was hailed by Rolling Stone as a “smart meeting-point between early-Aughts pop, country’s current genre playfulness and the one-name women of the Nineties (Faith, Trisha, Shania)” and Billboard stating By The Moon’s “confessional lyrics and haunting vocals remain at the forefront of the project, as can be heard on standout songs like the soulful gospel-infused number “Worth the Weight” and heartbreaking piano ballad “Gave Him Away.”

"Can't Help Myself" follows Emily's latest tracks "Handle," ""My Version of A Love Song," the title-track to her EP, and its opposite counterpart "Hangovers & Heartbreak." Out October 30th, the My Version of A Love Song EP marks the first collection of songs since Emily's 2 part debut album release - By The Sun and By The Moon released in 2018 and 2019, respectively. My Version Of A Love Song has something for everyone — from the lovers to the lovesick.
