Jameson Rodgers
Bet You're From A Small Town

Jameson Rodgers moved to Nashville with a dream to make it in Music City. Over the past 11 years he has written tracks for the likes of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line, but now it is time for him to step into the light with the release of his debut album - Bet You’re From A Small Town. Rodgers first released an EP back in 2016, which he followed up with further releases in 2018 and earlier this year with his In It For The Money EP. The Batesville, Mississippi native is not looking to move away from his song writing roots as his debut album sees his name attached to writing credits for 13 or the 14 tracks.

Rodgers has used his debut album as an opportunity to showcase 8 new songs, whilst not forgetting some of his fan favourite tracks by including 6 from his three previous EPs.

One Day
The album opens with country vibes and guitar riffs for the up tempo One Day, which certainly pulls the listener in for a song to be sung with the windows down as we hear about all the tings that he will do one day
One day I'm gonna quit drinking these cold beers
One day me and this truck'll quit riding roads round here
One day I'm gonna give up bar stools and neon lights
One day I'll get over you
One day I'm gonna die

Merle Haggard
The pace slows and Rodgers’ voice is allowed to do the work for some country music nostalgia is the form of what would have made up a Merle Haggard breakup song.
You were good but no good for me
Mama tried to warn me you'd break my heart in two
Merle Haggard woulda wrote songs about you

Close To You
The guitar riffs are back for a country love song
I don't wanna be close to anything
Anything, anything but you

Bet You’re From A Small Town
The title track is an excellent choice to sum up the album that comes with a homegrown country feel. This is bound to be a crowd pleaser live with its changes of pace and lyrics that are so close to home for the singer who grew up in a town of under 8,000
If the only thing you had to do on a Friday night was drive around
I bet you're from a small town

Missing One
Jameson heads back to his 2018 EP for a song that will fit with songs you currently hear on country radio
I hate the way it hurts like hell
I wanna want somebody else
Girls in here can't help tonight
Cause I'm missing one, yeah

You Won’t
It’s break-up time when you know they won’t be coming back into your life like other things. This could be a hidden gem on the album as some artists who have had track similar theme to this song have seen them go on to do big things for them
Some things leave but they always come back
Baby, you and me, we both know that you won't

Girl With The Broken Heart
Rodgers offers advice to the girl with the broken heart to not be down hearted over a break-up
Go set them selfies on fire
Keep telling yourself he ain't the one
Drink that wine, you're gonna be fine

Bars Back Home
The small town theme returns as Rodgers knows that home is where the heart is despite his travels now taking him to some of the biggest venues in the country
I'm little more bars back home
Beer from a bottle
Hidin' in the corner of an old map dot
One man band playin' "Black Water"
Knowin' every truck in the parking lot

Porch With A View
We are staying close to home for a quiet night in
Open up a bottle of wine
Toast the rest of our lives
And watch that red sun sink

Bringing It Back
Jameson Rodgers looks to go old school on the dating scene
That first date stop at first base
Old school kinda cool, kinda bad
I'm bringing it back, I'm bringing it back, I'm bringing it back

Girls That Smoke
A track that first released by Rodgers back in 2016 and has been given a new lease of life for the album about the girls that will take a sip of your drink and finish your cigarette
Stealing little sips out your whiskey and Coke
They'll burn you down to ashes, man it ain't no joke
Gotta quit hanging with them girls that smoke

Cold Beer Calling My Name
I hope Rodgers is ready to sing this song for the next 20 years. Teaming up with Luke Combs, Rodgers has got the feel good, tailgating, Friday night song which is going to be heard for a long time to come. Will he ever get bored of someone asking him if there’s a cold beer calling his name?
There's a cold beer calling my name
Feel a good time coming, got a new song humming
And the sunset's doing its thing

Some Girls
The only song on the album that Rodgers doesn’t have a writing credit on, but having appeared on two of his EPs, there was no way he would be leaving this crowd favourite that has put him into the limelight off his debut album
Some girls get their mama on the phone
Take a trip back home, pretend they never knew the guy
Some girls drink a bottle of wine
Got an old ex to text to get 'em through the getting by

Good Dogs
From his In It For The Money EP, Good Dogs is the mellow tale of the good things in life and the wish that dogs could live forever – perfect for an acoustic part of any live show
Good trucks, they'll run forever
If you keep oil in 'em and you treat 'em right
A good woman holds you together
She'll stick with you for the rest of your life
Good buddies will always come running
Got your back no matter what
But good dogs don't live long enough

Desert
Closing out the album, just like it did with the EP, Desert continues the same questioning theme as Good Dogs
Don't waste a day worried 'bout what tomorrow's bringing
Just 'cause a ship's taking on a little water don't mean it's sinking
You can't just roll through it, you gotta roll with it
Just pull your boots up and dig your heels in it

Picture
As debut albums go, Jameson Rodgers has hit many of the right notes and has shown his versatility as an artist as he has shown the standard he has set for himself is very high. We knew Jameson had the makings of a star from his early EP releases, and now with a full album out the sky is the limit and not much looks like getting in his way of reaching the same heights as some of country music’s biggest stars. The album has tracks that are full band ready, acoustic ready, sing-along ready and stadium ready.
