Kip Moore @ Cadogan Hall
Kip returned to London in style and didn’t need to leave his seat to do it.
94 days to go. That is how long Kip Moore fans need to now wait till he returns to London. 601 days after his last headlining show in the capital at Shepherds Bush Empire, Kip returned without any electric guitars for the long awaited acoustic show as part of his Room To Spare EP and the night didn’t disappoint. Taking to the stage on his own for the first few songs, Kip owned the room from the moments the lights dimmed. Cheers poured out from the audience before he had even been able to play his first note - he could have easily stood there for five minutes and it wouldn’t have stopper! The intimate setting of Sloane Squares Cadogan Hall had been sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale and Kip turned it into a writers round show of just one artist. He has always been an avid supporter and admirer of the crowds across the UK and this once again proved why we love him so much. Keeping with the acoustic vibe of the night, Kip remained on his stool throughout as he shared a selection of strip downed tracks from all three of his albums and even a treat for the London crowd of a track from his upcoming fourth album, which Moore asked for fans not to be recorded. |
As the crowd hung onto every word Kip was singing, The Slow Hearts made their way onto the stage after the first six songs to support him with their own acoustic instruments. Ensuring many fan favourites were included in the set, Kip had changed the set list for the UK leg of the tour due to crowd demands. It didn’t take long for every member of the 950 person audience to be out of their chairs and on their feet dancing, clapping and singing the night away.
A few highlights of the 20 track set included the story of how he tried to get Reckless out of the set list and move away from his debut album, only to have fans in America demand it be played; a poignant ending to Last Shot as he shared his final moments of a late night drive with his dad; opening his encore with Mary Was The Marrying Kind; and closing the night with Guitar Man as the guy with just a few hundred dollars left in his pocket and the girl who didn’t believe he would achieve his dream.
Having been passed over as a headliner for C2C in 2018, The Long Road Festival In September will be his first festival headline slot in the UK and it is very deserved. Once again he has shown that he is worthy of performing on the biggest stages in the UK and no matter the show, people turn up and Kip puts on a performance. He is clearly one of the most popular Nashville artists on the UK scene and he is so appreciative of the fans he follow him and sing along to every word.
All we need now is for some of the upcoming new music to be released so we can be ready to sing along in September.
