Mae Estes Sets Self-Titled EP Mae Estes For October 10

Rising singer/songwriter Mae Estes today announces her self-titled EP, Mae Estes, out October 10 via Big Machine Records. Comprised of five tracks, the well-rounded EP provides fans with her signature Neotraditional-influenced sound that persists from stirring introspective ballads to booming back porch barnburners, consistently “proving that Country music still has room for steel-string storytelling” (COWGIRL Magazine). Mae Estes includes the “ubeat and endearing” (MusicRow) “Mr. Fix It,” the “rollicking Country bop” (Taste of Country) “Mountain Of A Man,” brand-new track “Drunk On That,” plus two never-before-released songs: “I Better Go” and “What She’s Havin’.”

“The timing of this EP is so exciting for me! I’ve been having the time of my life finding the folks who love the same kinda Country music I do,” shares Mae. “Me and the band have been touring the country and really finding our people this year. I’m stoked to give ‘em a few more tunes to go turn up!”

In her new track “Drunk On That,” out today, the narrator finds herself with an overwhelming list of reasons to drink away the hurt following the end of a relationship. Sitting in the despair and letting it occupy her mind ultimately leads to flashes of defining moments of the relationship that she’d rather forget – vinyl records, packed bags, a diamond ring – which act as a catalyst to go off the deep end and overindulge. Written by Jay Brunswick, Josh Dunne and Chancie Neal, “Drunk On That” is a vulnerable and affecting addition to Estes’ growing Neotraditional-preserving catalogue. With her beautifully hypnotic vocals backed by pedal steel guitar and fiddle, Estes continues to prove her place as a standout artist and steady torchbearer for traditional Country music.

“My buddy Chancie Neal used to play ‘Drunk On That’ in songwriter rounds years ago and I never forgot about it. It was one of those spins on a simple phrase that Country music is so good at,” says Mae. “In the studio, our reference track for this one was ‘Neon Moon.’ Lonnie Wilson, who played drums on this song, then informed us he played drums in the same studio with the same snare for ‘Neon Moon.’ Stories like that are my favorite! I’m grateful to get to release my version of this Country tune.”

Mae Estes Track List:
1. “Mr. Fix It” (Mae Estes, Marti Dodson, Jaida Dreyer, Alex Kline)
2. “Drunk On That” (Jay Brunswick, Josh Dunne, Chancie Neal)
3. “Mountain Of A Man” (Jon Decious, Lauren McLamb, Liz Rose, Paul Sikes)
4. “I Better Go” (Mae Estes, Brice Long, Paul Sikes)
