Noah Kahan Hyde Park Review

In September 2017, Noah Kahan arrived in the UK to play a show at The Social in London to 77 people. Fast forward to July 2024 and the singer from the town of Stafford, Vermont (population 1,000), could have invited every resident of his town and Vermont’s two largest cities – Burlington and Essex – and he would just about have 65,000 people in attendance. For Kahan, he arrived in London this time to play to exactly that amount, his biggest ever headline show, at London’s Hyde Park.
“I came to London and played to 77 people and it was the greatest day,” he told fans. “There’s a lot more here tonight… I love this city so much!”

American Express Presents BST Hyde Park had a jam packed day in the lead up to Noah Kahan’s headline set featuring 12 artists including Gigi Perez, Lily Fitts and Maya Lane. The highlight of the support artists will is an easy choice, with Gracie Abrams welcomes Aaron Dessner of The National to join her on stage for a few tracks – including a brand new track they had only recently written called Crazy Girl. The three-track collaboration would also feature I Love You, I’m Sorry and Where Do We Go Now?

As Kahan took to the Great Oak Stage, he would open the night with All My Love and it would set the tone for the night as he would go through fan favourite after fan favourite track keeping the sell-out crowd in their positive Friday night vibes throughout. During the night he would share the stage with Gracie Abrams to sing Everywhere, Everything and also with Gigi Perez for Call Your Mum – with Noah’s mum watching on from the crowd.

A B Stage was in play this week at Hyde Park and Kahan would make his way through the crowd to play Pain Is Cold Water, Maine and Strawberry Wine to get a little closer to those in General Admission, before heading back to the main stage to close the show out. As the night was coming to a close, Kahan would return to the stage to a mix of cheers and boos from the Hyde Park crowd – he was wearing a Chelsea shirt! Opening his encore with Northern Attire, the second verse would be the moment the crowd would be talking about as this time when a second artist stepped foot on the Great Oak Stage there was only cheers for Lewis Capaldi. For Noah Kahan, there is only one song you’d expect him to play when he closes out a sold-out headline gig to 65,000 – the multi-platinum selling Stick Season.

There may have been 65,000 people in London’s Hyde Park this 4th July, but Noah Kahan made it feel like an intimate show as he connected with the crowd through every song, making you feel like you were one of 77, not one of 65,000.
