Post Script Launches North Star Records with First Signing Sully Burrows
Canada's newest entertainment company Post Script has announced the launch of North Star Records, the country music imprint of PS Records, with 19-year-old Ontario artist Sully Burrows as its first signing. The label launched with Burrows’ new single “Leave You Lonely,” and the announcement of his first ever headline tour.
North Star extends Post Script’s artist-focused approach into country music, pairing independent, hands-on development with the distribution infrastructure, expertise and reach available through PS Records’ distribution partnership with Universal Music Canada.
“North Star is about creating a dedicated home for country artists and building around what each artist actually needs,” says Post Script founder Pat Murphy. “Sully has been at the centre of this from the start. We’ve worked together for the last several years, and I’ve watched him grow into an artist with a clear voice, a great instinct for songs and the work ethic to match. There is no one I’d rather launch North Star with.”
“Being the first artist signed to North Star Records is really exciting,” says Burrows. “It feels like the start of something new, and I’m proud to be the first artist helping introduce what North Star is all about.”
“Pat and I have been working together for the last few years, so this feels like a really natural evolution of what we’ve already been doing,” he continues. “He’s believed in me and my music from the beginning, and we’re both always thinking about what we can do next and how we can take things further.”
With its easygoing country feel and instantly memorable chorus, “Leave You Lonely” shows a more confident, playful side of Burrows. The single is the title track from his forthcoming Leave You Lonely EP, arriving November 13 via North Star Records.
Burrows will support the EP with the Leave You Lonely Tour this fall. Tickets for the Leave You Lonely Tour go on-sale Thursday, September 10 at 10:00am ET, with an exclusive artist pre-sale dropping Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00am ET.
“This fall is going to be a huge moment for me,” says Burrows. “I’m releasing my new EP and heading out on my first headline tour, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m really excited for people to hear this next group of songs and then actually get out there and play them live every night. It feels like everything is starting to come together.”
The signing arrives at a breakout moment for Burrows. The 19-year-old Parry Sound artist enters the fall as the youngest nominee across all categories at the 2026 CCMA Awards, where he is nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. He has also surpassed 15 million career streams and landed two Canadian country radio Top 20 singles, with both “Rally Around” and “Put It On Me” peaking at No. 14.
Burrows’ growing profile extends well beyond radio. A CMAOntario Breakthrough Artist of the Year and SOCAN Young Canadian Songwriters Award winner, he also earned a Top 3 finish in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country last year, while his music has landed major sync placements with the NHL, Sportsnet and Labatt. His recent live schedule has included Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Country Thunder, Big Valley Jamboree and a halftime performance at the Toronto Argonauts home opener, setting the stage for his first Canadian headline tour this fall.
North Star Records will be introduced to the industry later this month with a launch event during Country Music Week in Saskatoon, where Burrows will perform new music from the forthcoming EP.
