Zach Bryan Hyde Park Night 2
“Thank you so much for being here, Hyde Park. To be in front of you is such a blessing.”
No sooner had Saturday night’s 20-minute encore of Revival come to a close with fireworks lighting up the night sky we were straight back to Hyde Park for day 2 of Zach Bryan’s takeover of Hyde Park for another round of 60,000 people in the sunshine.
After an extended journey home on Saturday – got to love it when they close Hyde Park Corner Underground and only open one entrance to Green Park – we eventually found our way onto a tube at Westminster to get to Waterloo, meaning that Sunday started with a new adventure – Woking to Clapham; Clapham to Victoria; and a fifteen minute walk to Hyde Park. When trying a new way to get to a venue it always helps that it is pretty obvious where people are going to when it’s a country music event and then it’s a case of hoping they know where they’re going!
Heading out into the main arena for Willow Avalon’s set – her band got the memo about the hot weather today in a slightly more relaxed attire than Saturday – people were already trying to find corners of shade and the lines for beers had begun; and plenty of crushed cans underfoot! The main change for the Sunday lineup that we headed to see was the addition of Oklahoma natives Turnpike Troubadours close out their UK headline tour, where they were supported by fellow BST performer Noeline Hoffman, on The Great Oak Stage. Having played a headline show in London on Friday night at the Islington Assembly Hall – where Zach Bryan joined them on stage – the band smashed out their 45-minute set and if they had been allowed to, I’m sure no one would have complained if they had stayed on stage for longer.

As with Saturday night, once 8pm came around, Hyde Park was at capacity to welcome back Zach Bryan and this time Zach was welcomed to the stage with the sound of Oasis’ Don’t Look in Anger before embarking on two hours of non-stop fan favourites for an all-out sing-along. During the set, Zach would welcome a random fan from the crowd onto the stage to sing Torniquet with him before sharing the stage with Noeline Hofmann for their 2024 duet Purple Gas. Zach would also welcome his chief support act to the stage for the second night running – Dermot Kennedy for Hey Driver declaring “he sings it ten times better than I ever could.”
Closing out the night with his 19-piece band consisting of bass and electric guitarists, a drummer, lap-steel guitarist, quintet of string instruments and a six-player brass band there was only going to be one song – Revival
