Our first introduction to AlyssaBonagura came at Nashville Meets London in Canary Wharf back in 2018 as part of The Sisterhood Band alongside Ruby Stewart. We next caught the duo a year later in Nashville during CMA Fest but since then Bonagura has been building her blossoming solo career based here in the UK. We first met in person at Buckle and Boots near Manchester in 2021 then brought our first interview for this site a year later which has led to her being a great friend and supporter of our site.
Alyssa released new EP “Fly With Me” at the beginning of June which is her reflective journal of relocating to the UK and falling in love which you check out our review HERE. Since the release of the project, she has been busy on this side of the Atlantic where she has opened for Bowen Young, been a part of the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park on a bill that was topped by Billy Joel and hosted her own 4th of July celebration at The Bedford in Balham. Before getting on stage at the iconic southwest London venue, Jamie caught up with Alyssa to talk about the new EP and (after some guest input from SJ and Ed from Morganway) see if she has well and truly adjusted to the British way of life with our own (unofficial) citizenship test!
The new EP “Fly with Me” from Alyssa Bonagura is out now via Extreme Music and you can listen to it HERE. Alyssa still has a number of confirmed UK shows this summer which you can find below, and you can also keep up to date with her socially on INSTAGRAMTWITTER & FACEBOOK.
